Recently dived with scubacaribe whilst on holiday in Cape Verde - great team who were very helpful and very safety conscious
We made 5 dives while staying at the Riu Tuareg in Boa Vista and it was very nice. It was super easy as the dive centre is on the beach of the hotel itself. The staff is friendly and we enjoyed the dives - we were lucky enough to see a big nurse shark - video below - thanks to the nice Dutch lady for sharing it with us ;) We dont' plan on going back to Cabo Verde as there is not much to see on the islands, but I would recommend the dives there !
The instructors are very qualified people and prepar you 100% before going into the water!!! Very happy of having it done the first time in Mexico!!!!!
Jederzeit wieder :-)
They took super good care or me and my wife and helped us have a unforgettable trip. I would recommend them to anyone.
Me and my daughter (13) went on a diving trip on Sal. This was our first diving experience and we had a fantastic day. The staff was very friendly en professional. We have seen a lot of different fishes so we had a great time!
give your self plenty of time to complete the open water programme, its worth it but takes up 3 or 4 half days..
Amazing experience in Cabo. Great instructors and water was beautiful and the location was great. I would go again next time 100 percent
I can highly recommend the team at scuba caribe at the Riu Merengue, as a relatively new diver they provided a good level of supervision and I felt the whole set up was well organised and run. The guys took a personal interest in providing a good service, as an example the main dive boat broke down for several days, instead of cancelling dives they ensured an alternative boat was available and worked around the problem!
My wife and I had a wonderful time. Every person we interacted with was friendly and professional. They took the time to make sure we understood everything. We had such a good experience, that we came home and got certified to dive. We will definitely visit again and book a trip.
I stayed in Playacar 10 days and did many activities with them at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya (this is the third trip I dive with them). To begin with they are very professional and safety oriented. A rare thing in Mexico, they actually follow the rules. I did a few dives with them and it was a great experience. The diving spots were beautiful and a lot of life, fr turtles, to rays, moreas - you name it. But they went above and beyond on a boat trip. We rented a small boat for the family since my father, who is elder and sick and cannot walk, loves boat riding. The staff was so accomodating to ensure he got on the boat safely (they farries him) and that he was enjoying the ride. This is a memory that will be with him for his final days and I cannot thank enough the team at ScubaCaribe!
Myself and my partner visited Mexico in October 2015 and the diving should have been amazing due to its location. We booked to go Scuba diving with Scubacaribe at the tail end of our holiday for a morning diving session and it cost us around £90. We woke the morning of the dive to heavy winds and black clouds, and we went down to the diving centre presuming we would have to reschedule. When we go there we were kitted out with scuba kit and told we would go ahead with the pool part of the day and the weather should have improved once we had finished. Once we had finished the weather had got much worse with high waves and strong winds. A red flag was flying and no other watersports were running. The waves were so bad the boat was unable to to anchor near the beach so they threw a line out and told us to inflate our BCD jackets pull ourselves out to the boat. We were told to hold on tight or we could be swept out to sea...it was terrifying! Once on the boat we were sat down on the boat that was rocking around everywhere. We had to do a second stop at a beach further down the coast and the same process was repeated. A further four tourists were due to come on the boat, but two people got halfway out and decided it was two dangerous and went back to shore. We then went to the dive site and were told it we needed to go twelve meters down to get to the reef - it was my partners first dive and they expected him to go twelve meters in poor visibility!! We got in the water and I was immediately swept off by a wave, an instructor jumped in after me with a line and brought me back to the mainline we all needed to hold. We had to wear our oxygen line whilst on the surface due to the height and strength of the waves. When we started to dive myself and my partner had an instructor between us - so a good student / teacher ratio. We were to follow a line to the sea surface where our reef experience would begin. Unfortunately, due to being tossed around by the waves for the past 30 minutes I felt very sick and did not feel much better underwater. I went down six meters and could not equalize, and after fifteen minutes of trying I decided to go back to surface. I informed my instructor and he left me to go back up alone - fortunately the boat was still there. I waited on the boat for thirty minutes for the others to surface. I never suffer from sea sickness, but I was sick three times and the staff laughed each time - which was embarrassing and degrading. Once we got back the entire porting area along the coast was closed for the rest of the day. The whole experience was terrifying and from the moment I left all I wanted to do was get back to shore. I have been diving many times and have the BSAC open water diving qualification, and the was the only time I did not enjoy the experience at all. I am sure it is a lovely experience if the sea is calm, but do not let them pressurise you in to diving in bad weather like they did to us.
Great instructors who were very friendly. Great to see so much respect for the ocean. They let us use a go pro so the whole thing is recorded.
This was the first place I have been after qualifying for my openwater and what a great start. The team are so nice and helpful and gave me loads of great tipe. Had a fantastic time and would recommend them any time. If I go back to Cabo Verde they will be my first choice.
This was our second trip to RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas. We choose it because of the option to dive. We may return again.
Went for two, two tank dives, excellent equipment and dive master. Setup gear at the dive shop, boarded the boat on the beach. Left around 8am , back by noon. Short ride to dive site. Excellent diving, wrecks and tunnels. Good time.
The Dive -Spots are near by and the Dive Guides are friendly and Competent. Sometimes i wish that it was posible to dive in the afternoon.
Stayed at the Riu Bacheta.... Really good experience and an excellent video!... I would do it everyday if I could...
Our family had an amazing diving experience, it is very well organised, Wolfgang and the staff were brilliant. My two teenage kids did their 'open water' diving certificate and the tuition was first class! The fish and coral reefs are lovely and we never dived in the same place twice. Also we had some amazing photos and video taken by Nenad the designated dive photographer. I would highly recommend diving with ScubaCaribe!
A great experience with fantastic guides and instructors. I've dived several times on the Island of Boa Vista but this was my first time on Sal. I took my Nitrox qualification as my goal for this holiday and also managed to do my 100th dive there too. All the equipment is in good condition and well prepared and maintained, the pre-dive briefings were very thorough and the enthusiasm of the staff was brilliant. I love these Cabo Verdean dive centres as you leave the dive centre into a diving boat straight off the beach and it's easy to get multiple dives in per day. There's plenty of fish to look at and this time around we were lucky enough to see 2 Manta Rays, a pod of dolphins, frog fish, nudibranchs as well as the usual range of morays, surgeon and more puffer fish than you could shake a stick at. Hundreds!
Cecile and Jean-Mi were friendly, professional and fun. We had a good underwater adventure with them and highly recommend them.
The diving in Cabo is spectacular. Full of all kinds of sea life, a cool shelf drop, and a ship wreck. The instructors and Captain were knowledgeable and friendly and made the whole experience easy and fun.
Loved it went down around an old shipwreck definitely worth it the staff were excellent and friendly and helpful all the way would recommend you try this it's a once in a lifetime feeling
well organised dive trips, everything seems to be profesional, new equipmet, international dive guards, good dive spots, happy team ;-)
Did our open water check out in Mexico with Scuba Caribe, all the instructors were awesome. Bjorge, Lung and Lucio were amazing instructors.
I had not been out on a dive for over ten years. The refresher course in the pool, patience by the dive master and overall pleasant attitude made my return to diving a great experience. Highly recomended.
Excelente trato del personal, excelente experiencia. Volveré a tomar sus servicios. El instructor ha sido paciente y contemplativo.
We dove ten years ago here and absolutely loved it. Loved the staff. We came back hoping for the same and we got it! The staff were helpful and very knowledgeable. We loved it even more. Thank you
There were some problems. The instructor didn't speak English and instruction was rushed and so we felt unprepared.
I did several dives with Scuba Caribe in the Carribean the last years .I was very satisfied of the divecenter.Last year I was at Riu Palace Tropical Bay ; I did dive there also.
Recomendable.
The crew at Riu Punta Cana were down to earth, fun, and helpful. They kept a close eye on me but still gave me the independence that I wanted during the dives.
This was my first dive and I really enjoyed it. I loved that an intro dive class in the pool, was offered at our hotel. The dive instructor was awesome! He was so calming in my moments of panic and really new what he was talking about. I definitely recommend ScubaCaribe!
nice locations, motivated well trained / experienced dive masters i am looking forward to dive with you again!!!
We had a great time. The staff and instructors were very good, easy to work with and communicated well with is.
Wonferful people al the dive centre made the course fun and safe. The dive sites were interresting and the water was clear and warm.
Friendly staff sorted out my issues without problems. I would use again. Hurt my back and swapped a dive for a snokel trip for my friends
We've had some nice, easy and relaxin dives. It was fun to dive with Licinio. We hope to come back for more.
I was in Sept/Oct in Boavista, Cabo Verde and did 11 dives with Scuba Caribe Karamboa. The equipment was good (I rented fulll equipment for 19 €/day) and was ready for me at arrival every day. The group sizes with 4 to 6 divers were comfortable. There was a breefing before every dive, mainly at the beach. Lobsters, nudibraches, scorpion fish... were pointed out to us while diving. Dive sites were chosen according to ability and weather conditions. I felt safe and comfortable diving with Scuba Caribe and can highly recommend.
If scuba diving is ur first time, do not be nerves, this people are well trained and organized giving u the train you need as well as keeping you safe.
I followed the scuba diver course with Lucio. He is excellent instructor with a lot patiente and calm :) The dives with other member of the team were very cool and amazing Great team Stephane
It was my last chance for diving on Mauritius before heading back home. The team at the office as well as the dive masters are very friendly and competent. We felt very comfortable. Unfortunately the wind was to strong to visit the dive spots more south, where the big fishes are. How unlucky you may be with a dive buddy I felt for the very first time when there was this rude, selfish guy from Russia. He collected living corals, touched everything and never paid attention to me as buddy: He never reported his tank pressure. His bad behaviour and low skills in diving cost a lot of oxygen. Forcing him to show me his tank pressure comfirmed me concerns. 70 bar, still on 18 meters depth he turned away from the group und dove even deeper... ...and that's where I contacted the dive master and signed him that I couldn't follow my buddy. The dive master's reaction was great and he forced the guy to follow him to the surface. Still a lot in the tank the dive master signed us to stay as a buddy group. For the second dive the DM had occasionally the idea to follow another dive group to a dive spot he didn't knew. Unfortunately we lost contact to the group and we started to explore the spot be chance. At least we saw a nice a gentle turtle. It would be great when the DM is getting a better knowledge of the dive spot "Turtle Reef". All in all I can highly recommand scubacaribe.
I have dived many times with scuba caribe and always been happy but at the touareg you only get to dive 3 days a week. Suppose to have try dives in pool for beginners but none available. We will not be returning to this island.
We had a very beautyful time with Scubacaribe. Guide Martires shows us so nice places like Batato an cavernas. the trip to bayahibe was a great Special.
nice dive guides, good places, with high biodiversity. Good service also, with first driving with car to other location, if necessary.
I was hesitant to go scuba diving because when I took a pool scuba lesson a few years ago my ears hurt so bad I could not go very far under the water. My dad convinced me to give it a try on vacation. I am so glad he did!! Maurin was my instructor. She was patient with me during the instructional portion, and showed me the proper way to regulate to avoid ear pain. She is a great instructor and I would recommend her to anyone at the RIU. Her cheerful attitude and extensive expertise make her the perfect instructor. The dive was so much fun and I got to see a lot of really cool sea life including a sea turtle (which was the main reason I wanted to dive). It was an amazing experience!! Thank you Maurin!!!
Recently spent 6 days in Jamaica - Riu Tropical Bay. I am a frequent traveler and give the Scubacaribe Team 5 + stars! I am not one to sign up for excursions etc. but after meeting this crew, I have Scuba Diving - Snorkeling - Small Sunset Sailing on a catamaran - Tubing and last but not least the Wildthing Party Boat under my belt. Make sure you ask for ANITA for your Scuba Diving Instructor (She's the Best). Well, after I finally got the hang of clearing the water from my mask. :) JOMO for the Snorkeling and Wildthing! AMANDA behind the bar while sailing on the Wildthing cruise. We had such a great time with these folks that we extended our stay while there and will be headed back in a couple months. Take my advice, life is too short to just sit on the beach and (drink) when you can sign up with these folks and (drink). Such a great time and looking forward to seeing my Scubacaribe friends again. Ps..Don't forget to purchase your Wildthing T-shirt and booze packet from ROXANNE. Amazing individuals and customer service.
Our dive master took extra time to go over different Technics since we hadn't dove for over 10 years . She was very helpful and we felt safe . I wanted to make sure that we are talking about the Rui Palace in Cabo San Lucas . Exciting adventure
I Love the experience Of diving in Sal Cabo Verde um front of riu funana resort. I think professional divers there are very experient and teach já very well. Tanks to Digalam and Guilherme.
Very professional and kind staff. Procedings according to the international rules. Safety were on place. Good organization in terms of scuba materials. Boats perfectly addapted to diving.
Great staff and professionalism. The equipment is in good shape and the team are very helpful . Guides are always looking out for the safety and enjoyment of the participants. The wreck dive was amazing.
No matter what your experience ' Scubacaribe' will look after your needs. I nervous as I' hadn't dived since I qualified 3 years ago but this didn't matter to them. They accepted me with open arms, teamed me up with a great instructor/guide (multi lingual) and dive buddy (English one day and German another day - both great 'buddies') and away we went. The review went great and the dives even better. I would rank my second dive one of the best feelings I have ever had! Launch is usually from a small fibreglass boat from the beach and will be used for the dive or you transfer to a larger boat and recovery is back onto the beach whether being dropped off in the waves and swim in or even more fun 'storming the beach' in the smaller boat ;) Dependent on the time of year and whether cycles etc depends on what you see and the vis. down there but worth it all the same. have many wrecks and dive sites local to the area so not much travelling time required before you're diving. Prices are very reasonable and if you wish to borrow some kit like I did then the prices at the time were only 4 euros per item. Had two dive times in the day, one at 0800 and one at 1400 arrival times at the dive hut (located on white sandy beaches) and you tended to be diving within the hour once suited, booted and traveled to the local site. Saw many parrot fish, porcupine fish, eels (one group had just seen a 6m long Moray eel!), lobsters and many more. The waters are teaming with fish, turtles and dependent on the time of year then whales can also make a visit. A good tip would be to get down to the beach roughly in front of the Dive centre at about 0730 whether you are diving or not and wait until about 0800 as you will get to see HAMMERHEAD SHARKS swimming in the surf feeding on shoals of fish at that time in the morning! Unbelievable site and never got wet once as this spectacle is visible from the beach. I will keep an eye out for the Scubacaribe water sports group anywhere I go in the world but will certainly make this one on Boa Vista a definite venue of mine when visiting the area. Thank you once again to Ricardo, Toby and the Blond German Instructor who I didn't catch the name for making my experience on Boa Vista a memorable one.
The instructors did a gret job and made our discovery day one to remember. Thanks to all the crew xxx
As the only diver in a group of six, I limited my diving to every other day. It was a perfect mix of being sociable with my traveling partners, and enjoying some really fun dives. The folks at SCUBA CARIBE from the Operation Manager, Instructors / Dive masters, to the people behind the desks that kept the operation running were uniformily friendly and always helpful. No problem was to big, or to small for them to tackle with a smile. The dives I made were with small groups (3 to 6). We dove a different site each time out; with options of making one, or two dives in the AM, and for those interested, a third in the afternoon. During the week we saw lots of sea life ranging from large schools of colorful tropical fish, moray eels (green & spotted), and Hawksbill sea turtles (seven on one dive). Dive site depths ranged from 13 meters to 30 meters (for the experienced diver). SCUBA CARIBE caters to divers of all experience levels; from beginner to advance.
A great Caribbean reef diving experience for my son and I. Made to feel confident and safe by the professional behaviour and expertise of all the staff. The equipment was in very good condition and the morning was relaxed and well organised. Thank you.
Diving was relaxed in small groups, safety first, no risks. Unfortunately the dives were rather short, due to group members being short on air after half an hour. On the one hand what a pity, on the other hand I appreciated that we were regarded as one group, so no risks taken while splitting it.
The service of the Scuba-Team is very good. Also the diving sites are nice. Nice reef and many beauteful fishes.
Very safe......well managed and very friendly. Photographs were good and Eddy the main man was very patient we we beginners!
Had a nice time diving with both staff and dive buddies. Would recommend this to all travelling to carribean islands. Professional staff made me feel safe and welcome.
Enjoyed recreation diving while on holiday but never thought about getting qualified, until visiting scuba caribe ,very freindly and great bunch of instructors, best thing I've done was to qualify.
Great people and great experiences. Brilliant!! Helpful and encouraging. Our holiday would not have been the same without Scubacaribe
Getting PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Certification was the highlight of my Costa Rica Trip! ScubaCaribe staff and instructors were so kind and professional. Maurin was our instructor for the course and she is the best combination of fun, knowledgeable and straight-forward. She ensured we learned all the procedures correctly and would work with us until we were proficient at them. Now, I can explore the rest of the world underwater. Thank you Maurin & Scuba Caribe!!
Scuba caribe was our first choice when it and to booking a diving excursion. My friend and I are both different levels of divers. She was a beginner and I have dove quite a number of times before. My friend was very nervous and had quite a lot of trouble equalising. However the dive master was very patient and stayed with her helping her to equalise until we got to our desires depth. Very very nice people. I even ended up doing my PADI open water lisense with them. I would highly recommend scuba caribe.
The staffs were very helpful to have my daughter(21) and Son(16)certified when we stayed at the Riu Montego Bay. The entire experience was just excellent!
Such a great experience to deal with those guys. So kind, flexible and professional. I really recommend them
Massive dives with Lloyd and entire crew, great Wildthing excursion on Thursday :) Nice staff! Sad to be back to reality.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! I would always come back! Cecil and Lorenzo were very nice and friendly! We had a great time! Thank you!
Did a dive on August 25, 2015. The dive was amazing and the instructor made the experience very pleasant. I will most definitely be back there to dive again on my vacation next year.
I totally and completely enjoyed my diving experience with ScubaCaribe!!! I can't wait to go back to dive and attend advanced classes with ScubaCaribe. I will tell all of my friends and colleagues about ScubaCaribe! You have a class A professional organization! The courses and instructors are first rate! The staff is friendly and very helpful. Thank you!!!!
very friendly and competent staff, equipment is in very good condition, dive boat very comfortable and fast. Prices are amongst the best in le morne, much better than those of the diveshops at the luxury resorts.
Completed my ADV OPEN WATER Certification Sept 2015 "Capt. Kirk" is a first class salesman and business man. No hassling, No pressure. Friendly and likable. Lloyd Haye, my dive master/instructor is THE BEST!!! Very patient and knows EVERYTHING!! Lloyd & his crew know EVERY INCH of the Bloody Bay dive sites. I was able to complete the course, 5 dives in 3 days + the knowledge test. After it was all over, I actually missed going out everyday.
So I recently visited the scuba calibre outfit at riu palace Jamaica Montego Bay, it's actually in the next complex, over a bridge at the end of the beach. The outfit is well organised with plenty of equipment for all sizes. The booking office girls are efficient and very welcoming. When I was there there were two dive guides/instructors, their names escape me now, they are a couple. The lady is Dutch, with a very convincing English accent & the guy from England, who is also a BSAC dive leader/instructor. Both were very accommodating and knowledgeable about the dive sites. Although I didn't take up any dive training, already qualified, the training I did witness was well briefed, organised and executed. The dives are well briefed with "ding dong", the boat skipper, placing us on the sites every time without the need for long swims. The guides provided excellent dive site briefs and provided experienced divers a degree of latitude, all within the PADI dive regulations, thanks guy's. Overall a well organised outfit, you'll be in safe hands if you decide to train or just dive with these guys.
It was an awesome first time experience, i felt safe and comfortable and my instructor was great. My husband enjoyed it as well. I love that there is a pool dive prior to the open water dive, it really helps the group become comfortable and aware of their scuba equipment and capabilities. I can't wait to visit again.
many thanks for the warm welcome and we enjoyed the very familiar atmosphere! 2 adults and 2 teens enjoyed to visit the nice diving spots by using public diving but also the opportunity for the private boat trips! we can recommend it 100 %
Dive instructors ( Matt and Jainakia)are great but the people at the front desk r rude and usless they let the side down thank god for the good instructors that always want to help
We were in Riu Montego Bay and I have made 2 dives. Nice little easy diving centre, no big groups. They have good equipment and nice personal. My divemaster was Janneke from the Netherlands. This made it a little easier to go again after a few years.
helpful team, good instructors, nice dive sites, good equipment all in all a very good experience excellent for beginners and good for experienced divers
Underwater: first time in my life. Wonderful staff & wonderful instructor who Knows the best way to guide anyone in a different world.
I had already been diving this location with its various sites for years. Now it is ran by ScubaCaraibe; better the organised state of dive briefing, equipment preparation - worse; all else, most particularly two subsequent dives in the morning instead of one. Most regular hotel costumers are interested in recreational easy going diving. Those few could then still dive another series in the afternoon. They purely commercially push in too much dives, with too short in between dives surface intervals. In three weeks I was able to dive the Passe St. Jacques site only three days - despite no serious swell nor heavy over 7Bft winds during this time period. The rest was the same boring dive offering each day at the other sites where most of the reef since the last two years is covered in sand, so not that much to see anymore. Not okay. My other hotel friends just stopped diving out of disappointment to the offering, which in addition is pricy, single dive €39 + x €4 for each rented piece, say full equipped then at € 39 + 5x €4 = € 59. Way to go guys.
Great place for scuba!!! i hope to return soon! great staff and instructor! thanks for everything. i went whit some friends and get certified the staff was very professional.
I recently went on a dive with Cecile, a Dive Master at the Rui Palace in Negril. She was a terrific instructor and guide. I do not dive often and Cecile was very good at giving refreshers as we went to the dive site by boat. I very much appreciated her work and skill and would highly recommend this dive center as a result.
Great time with the dive master and his team. Out 11 year old kids, boy and girl, did the Discover Scuba and he was on them all the time! Even blew a air ring underwater. Awesome !!
We were taught by Jean Michel who made learning fun but who also made sure we are now safe divers. Would recommend learning here to anybody looking to learn to dive
I enjoyed it, I recommend the Catalina Island trip, the water was very clear and beautiful
Dive spots are very good, team is very friendly and supportive. Was a great fun! Thx to Deny for his great guideance Thx to Francois for the pics Thx to Rambo for this crazy wave and wind fighting boat tour (and, of course, for picking us up :)
Highly recommended with greetings from Belgium. Nice job guys. Thx. Very nice people and highly trustful.
The base is located in the Riu hotel and quite new. The stuff is very friendly and competent. The rental equipment is quite new and in good conditions.
It was an excellent experience. The instructors were great and also the equipment provided. Diving with ScrubaCaribe was a very nice experience for us, we are sure that we will repeat!
My wife and I were given such care and attention. She became my scuba mom! I could not stay horizontal in the ocean. Very odd but my instructor took my hand and guided me along pointing out sea life.
My son and me had not been diving after getting our Open Water licence, so at first we did a refresher in the pool, and after that we soon agreed to do the Advanced course. The diving is really nice, with quite some different divesites. The team is very relaxed and experienced, and did their best to give us some safe diving(and pleasant)
We had great customer service from all of the staff. This was the first scuba experience for my son. We had a wonderful instructor who was very experienced, positive and made the class and dive fun. We saw a good variety of sea life on our dive and felt safe. Would definitely go back. Thank you Mo and all of the staff!
Best dive ever in Catalina island in Punta cana highly recommended if you want to dive a great reef.
After wanting to dive for several years, the team at ScubaCaribe was a major part of the reason we decided to finally take the plunge and book the open water dive course. The club takes health and safety very seriously, which in comparison to other dive clubs we have previously visited (where health and safety has been virtually non-existent), this made us feel very comfortable and safe. The staff are helpful and patient, if you don't pick something up quickly they have no problems with spending that extra time ensuring you are comfortable before proceeding to open water dives following the pool sessions. Our instructor was Ronald Davis, though there are other instructors there, he made our experience worthwhile, so much so that I decided to further my experience by booking my advanced open water dive course, where Ronald went above and beyond his duty as a member of staff to ensure that I completed it, in a happy environment. Tips: -Dives are carried out on boat trips, to my knowledge there are no dives performed from the beach. (It can get choppy due to the location of the resort so it is advisable to take sea sickness tablets if you suffer from this) -Boarding the dive boat, as you board the boat from the waters edge, due to the amount of fragments of coral and rock in the shore line, it is worth taking or hiring a pair of wetsuit boots/shoes, more so for when you are exiting the boat on return from your diving trip. -Book your dives a considerable amount of time prior to your departure as weather can change rapidly on this part of the island, and can make diving impossible on some days. All in all a great experience, will definitely be visiting ScubaCaribe again as this practically made our holiday!
Experiencing Scuba Diving for the first time was exhilarating and helped me overcame fear. Try it.
Very nice experience for my husband and I. Teacher very friendly. It would have been nice that someone can accompany the dive and make a souvenir video.
Thanks for a great experience!! Diving with you was so much fun! Won't ever forget it. See you next time.
Great dive, largest barricade I've ever seen ! Dive crew was attentive to all details. Had a great time . Thanks so much!
Awesome instructors and equipment. We had to wait a little bit between dives, but all the four dives went smooth!
The people were great very patient and knowledge able would go there again just to learn more about scuba
We went to Jamaica for a traditional vacation with family and friends and to do a couple of recreational dives. I was so impressed with the profesionalism of Anita's team at Scubacaribe, and decided to get my open water certification. She is very professional and full of knowledge. Made sure everyone was safe and ok with scuba. Congratulations and keep up the excellent job.
I was skeptical about going scuba diving, especially in a foreign country, but the staff was fantastic. Worked with me and my husband to make sure we knew the safety procedures and felt comfortable before we ever hit the ocean water. Although I didn't enjoy the actual underwater part due to my own fears, the guides were awesome and helped me conquer my fears and make the most of the trip!
Stayed at RIU negril in June! We have 3 certified divers in our family and two that have done discover scuba previosly Our Dive master Lloyd was amazing! Took our son through the skills in discover scuba again and helped me get comfortable having a very sore shoulder....he was not going to let me miss the dive! The dive was awesome! Thanks Lloyd! We also did their catamaran trip to Ricks! Definitely a highlight for all! The staff work hard to ensure everyone has a great time and they did!! I was surprised to see a smaller boat accompany us to shuttle guests into Ricks! I have been on other catamaran tours that if you want to go in to Ricks you had to swim in! Although the water was a bit rough our captain got us all into and back from Ricks safely! Very skilled! All the staff were awesome but one in particular,DJ,was very conscience that everyone was involved and having fun! The stop at Margarittaville was a great beach stop! Good opportunity to stroll that part of the beach or just sit and enjoy a bite to eat and a red stripe! I was hesitant to book because it was a 6 hour tour but sure didnt feel like it! Snorkling ,Ricks, Margarittaville, watching dolphins swim along side and then the party on the boat...noone was ready for it to end!
Loved the experience thanks to great instructors. It was my first time and I would go again. We went to stingray city where we saw many stingray and colorful fish.
I had my first ever scuba diving experience at the Riu Negril this past February and I am in love with scuba diving now! I remember feeling very overwhelmed on my descent in to the ocean but one of the diving instructors was able to show me how to calm myself and they were very attentive to my needs. Both instructors were very good at what they did and they made it an exciting and enjoyable experience for all those involved. I have recommended this to anyone who is going on a tropical vacation because it was definitely worth it! What an adventure!
Excellent facilities, staff and importantly reef!! My partner and I have dived on various ethnic locations around the world. We have dived with many dive companies and were very impressed with Rui. The facilities were great and the staff friendly, approachable and knowledgable.
The staff at Scuba Caribe were so friendly and helpful. We took out the small catamaran's every day and also completed our Open Water Dive Certification. Our instructor and the staff at the desk were a pleasure to work with and made us feel very comfortable. Thank YOU
I tried two other dive shops while diving in Jamaica, and neither compared to Scubascribe. I dove with Lorenzo, Jame' and Anita on some of the best dives I have experienced in over 25 years of diving! Scubacaribe assigns personal dive masters to divers of different levels; therefore, if you are with a boat full of beginners, you will not be required to go on a "group dive" with divers just starting out. I had my own dive master and buddy who were experienced at my level and, importantly, who were able to consume air at a rate similar to mine. I had the best dives of my diving career with Scubacaribe!
I was made to feek very welcome, had an amazing time and was very pleased with the instructor!! All the staff we very nice and i had the opertunity to see some amazing underwater marine life and plants! Can't wait to move onto next levels of diving courses!
Because now when I go back to my winter-plagued land-locked home in Edmonton, the endless drudgery of the cold months will make me think back on this day and cry and weep and gnash my teeth because I am not there I am in Edmonton. Where it's cold. And no ocean. See I'm crying now :( Thanks for the great time!
Great location. Top staff Would advise to take the course instead of the dive. Well worth it. Learnt a lot and Yeh. Sharks out there. Can't wait to do it all again
We stayed at Sunset at the Palms in Negril, Jamaica. We planned on diving at least one day since I am a newly certified diver and was a little anxious. We dove with Lloyd who was fantastic!!! He calmed my nerves, pointed out lots of cool things underwater. The first day we did 2 dives then immediately signed up for 2 more. All the staff in Negril were so welcoming and knowledgable. We would highly recommend Scubacaribe.
Best staff in the resort, so nice! Great teachers work at your pace! Definitely give scuba a go its a top thing to do
Second time I have used Scubacaribe. The first was in Jan of 2015 and the second was now in June of 2015. Marco, Alex, Lorenzo, Lloyd and all the girls at the counter are great. Both times I dove twice a day for six days. it was amazing. I am currently doing my Dive Master program, and I have to say diving with everyone I had a great feeling of security. Everyone was great, warm, pleasant, and inviting. Very eager to show me what I liked looking at underwater. If didn't want to go deep and someone else did both parties were accommodated. The entire experience was wonderful. I can't wait to revisit everyone!!!! I will be back in January as usual.
The team under the lead of Ronald was excellent. Ronald and JF was excellent instructors and made sure that us as new divers were looked after on all dives! They did an excellent multi-dive package for us. The equipment used where in excellent condition and they have excellent facilities! We would like to thank them for their friendly and professional service provided.
Instructors were very professional and had a genuine concern for safety. Also very encouraging and a lot of fun. Hands down would do this again.
Nothing to change. everything was perfect and absolutely recommendable. Daniel Morales Becerra was an excellent instructor.
We enjoyed our 6 dives with the scubacaribe a lot. Good and new equipment, very nice diving spots. My Instuctor explained me every dive for my advanced course detailed. We can highly recommend this diving school.
The staff was courteous and friendly throughout the process. Dane was a great dive master and ensured we were comfortable, safe, and enjoyed our dive.
Danny is great instructor, I got a incredible amount of one on one training and my open water dives were at really cool sites, reefs and wrecks. Juan Carlos and the other guys at Scubacaribe are super friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make my open water certification happen within my schedule and included me on a dive excursion on the Caribbean side of the island. Great guys, great operation.
Fab dives completing my advanced divers course. Such a friendly team with great advice along the way. Special thanks to Francois for his tutelage. Would recommend to divers of all levels.
First time diver. Excellent instructor. Good equipment, highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The service and training was excellent. The place we went had many turtles, which was great, but there was no coral reef, which is what I was hoping for. Due to this there were very few fish to see.
A really fun experience all the instructors were very helpful and very reassuring for a bit of a nervous mum and dad made us feel like there was no risk got us down and up safely wonderful sights to see while we were down there and would highly recommend it to anybody on holiday
The instructor, Matt was great. His instructions were precise, easy to follow and felt safe at all times. A fantastic experience, especially as it was my first ever dive. Thank you.
I loved my scuba diving experience in with Scubacaribe. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and I felt very safe during my dive. I would love to go again
Went to Riu Montego Bay to vacation with some friends, but got bored of the "relaxing" by day 2, so I decided to upgrade my old Scuba license to the Advanced Open Water. The staff at the Scuba office were friendly and helpful, and the instructor was very personable and engaging. I went for 5 dives in total, and spread them out over 3 days. Most of the sites were nice - in fact, they were more interesting than some of my scuba-snob friends would have had me believe were possible in that area - but nothing too jaw-dropping. The main area where I'd offer some advice for improvement, would be for the management to budget for a bit of upgraded equipment. The Scuba equipment was fine, but the boat had no GPS, so they weren't able to find the actual wreck we were meant to see on my Wreck Dive. I even offered to use my phone's built-in GPS, but they didn't have the coordinates of the wreck anyways. The "Fish ID Chart" we used for the Underwater Naturalist dive was cracked and broken, and in desperate need of replacement. For the Navigation Dive, the compass that was used for training purposes was not really working, and gave incorrect headings that made it difficult to accurately navigate. These things all seem like simple improvements that someone should authorize, as none of them are expensive or difficult fixes. Overall I feel like I got good value for the money I spent, but at the time I do recall feeling a strong sense of disappointment about not being able to do the wreck dive because of something so simple as not having the GPS coordinates to find it. None of this seemed to be in the control of the staff there, who were all very friendly and worked hard to get past these things. Whoever is in charge though, should really take the time to fix up these little things, because they do make the operation seem a bit shoddy.
Had a wonderful experience. William (Guillam) was a wonderful guide, and made the learning experience both fun and easy. Within the first dive, he had me feeling confident and comfortable in the water, and our open water dives were both very interesting and exciting. Would gladly recommend this to anyone I know.
Dived 6 times with my wife ( I am an Instructor , she is an Advanced Open Water Diver). The instructors went through boat safety, diving safety and dive behavior with each of us. Every dive was well managed and safe. The boat was appropriate for the trips and also the instructors were very pleasant and helpful to those that needed extra advice and coaching. A great experience.
Fun time. Great guides. I'd do it again. Having the photographer follow allowed for some good pictures.
It was the most beautiful things I have ever seen.it shows that there is wildlife everywhere. I loved it so much
Hotel Sucked, Diving was ok, nothing that I would want to dive for 4-5 days on. Dead reef, crappy coral, deep dive was ok.
Hadn't dived for 3 years when I came to Jamaica ... They must have the patience of saints to put up with a very dippy me. Hugely professional instructors and lovely dive sights.... Cant wait to come back
I was scared to try Scuba Diving. The bubble test gave me confidence to give the lesson and open water dive a try. My Dive Instructor was so patient and encouraging. He took the time to allow me to overcome my fear. In the open water he was calm and encouraging. I almost gave in to my fear but he made me feel that I could do it. Once on the bottom.....seeing the fish, coral and the Sting Rays was worth overcoming my fears. I had such an amazing experience! My husband and the dive instructor were so proud that I turn my fear into courage. We are looking forward to becoming certified divers. We are already planning our next vacation and our next dive. If it wasn't for our dive instructor I would be missing out!!!
In a nutshell great diving with brilliant instructors, crew, boat and equipment. After seven years out of the water I was a bit apprehensive so I went along for a chat first and Ron and the guys instantly put me at ease. After a thorough tune-up session I was back in the water and we were lucky enough to be joined by dolphins on or second tank. My partner also completed his open water cert so now we are looking forward to more holiday dives. Based on our experience in Mauritius we would both highly recommend Scuba Caribe and hope to visit you at other locations. Last but not least, a special mention to instructor JF - an all-round good guy , thanks for making the diving feel so comfortable and fun.
We loved Dane and all the people at ScubaCaribe that helped us get our PADI Certification while we were on vacation in lovely Jamaica! Felt very comfortable going into the Big Blue for the 1st time under their supervision, plus they had all sorts of great tips that only experienced divers would know. Respect
This was my first dive. Great instructor and guides. I had a great experience and can't wait to dive again!
My experience with Scubacaribe was great. The instructors were great, the Dive Master was friendly and ensured we were well prepared for the dive. He was great at showing us the marine life on the dive. The rest of the services (breakfast, boat ride, lunch, etc.) were also great.
There were 4 of us who went with another family of 4. With 6 first time divers our 2 instructors did a fabulous job during the dive. Was something to check off the bucket list.
Excellent divemasters, nice dives, just perfect holiday moments. I had a great time, no stress, no hurry, simply easy. Recomended to every one that's like diving.
Yeah Mon!! The diving was excellent! Our guide T-pain provided exceptional service to us through-out our multiple dives!! We had a blast and would recommend diving with Scuba Caribe again!! This was our 2nd trip to the Riu Palace Tropical Bay and we will be going back for a 3rd trip! Yeah Mon!!
Sonst weiter so.
We had a great time in Mauritius diving with Ron and Birgit and there Crew. All great People!! The dive-shack is not much though but it is enough to store your gear and go diving.
Upon arrival Scuba Caribe gave us a friendly welcome. All our equipment and diving needs were looked after by the guides and staff. Plenty of reef dives with large overhangs and plenty of fish. Recommend the Boris wreck at 28m, intact with easy swim through's, lots of life and good vis. We visited at the end of February and the sea was only 20 degrees C, a little cold for a 5mm wetsuit. The wind at this time of year is strong, so there is quite a swell and silty vis at shallower dive sites. This made it also made it feel cold for the second dive in the morning. Recommend going April - September for Scuba Diving.
Had a great time exploring the underwater world and cannot wait to go diving again! Scubacaribe made me feel comfortable and helped me get over my fear of the open water!! I would do it again in a heartbeat!
Planing, equipment and advices were very good. Great service. Unfortunately was the water in February too cold for me. After one single dive, 50 minutes, 10 meters, 21 Degrees Centigrate, 5 mm Neopren I was nearly frozen and didn´t recover the same day. So I didn't take a second dive
You can do a scubadiving anywhere in the World but you must do a scubadivingin Jamaica. Riu montego bay was excelent place and our diving experience was unforgetable. I recommand to evreybody to this. First thing you MUST DO over there
You must go to scuba dive at MUSA its incredible to see the statues and all the great colors of the coral reef and the fishes!
First timers to cape verde . We met up with the diving team on the beach front where they are based. They knew who we were from the emails sent earlier in the year and confirmed the team were expecting us. They told us that the weather the week earlier had not been kind and wind had picked up so dive sites might be limited, but would do their best to accommodate the wrecks we wanted to dive. (If diving I would recommend go in April as the wind has died down and water temp better). Saftey minded gave free nitrox if qualified, one dive guide to a max of five guests. Reefs not as colourful as some places I have dived but still plenty of fish life.
The staff and the instructor were very accommodating to my schedule. The session with the instructor did an excellent job in re-enforcing the lessons. The instructor listened to my questions and maintained a very good dialogue with me. He always kept my interest. I was very appreciative of the dives and his pointing out some of the sights.
Very nice instructor whi know to explain to my son in french She does her maximum for the best teaching instruction ans understandings
Very knowledgeable helpful staff! Had all my rented equipment ready in a bag. Made it very easy to get on the boat. Even washed my wetsuit and allowed it to dry for the next day's dive at the "shop".
Professional, friendly, and made us feel welcome. We got a chance to get a review before going diving the next day. Highly recommend.
This has by far been our best experience. Great staff, very good instruction, safe and interesting dives. My two sons had such a great experience that they want to become PADI certified like their dad! We hope to visit again next year.
Scuba diving was the highlight of my trip to Jamaica. Stingray City was amazing. I received my certification after taking lessons from Francesca who was a knowledgeable and personable instructor and it was a pleasure diving with her.
I was actually unable to complete the actual Scuba dive due to my inability to clear water from my mask while underwater. I'm only submitting this review to compliment Anita as an instructor. While the lesson became frustrating for me because of my struggles, Anita remained calm and professional. She tried her best to get me past the issue, and worked with me over and over again so I could go on the dive. My safety was her main concern.
Our dive instructor Francesca was awesome, the dive itself was a lot of fun and a great price for both the day certification and the dive. I'd definitely do it again if I make it back to the RIU Palace.
Your gear is old and the rubber hoseses are very wornd , the bcd i NOT in proper condition My boyonce test for Adwanced was NOT proper made because of the botton for airintake was NOT releasing when i took my finger away .... All the gear need replacement .... Next time i go diving i will have a look at the gear first .... And in your case find another place to dive
My brother and I wanted to certify for the open water diver, and Raphael was more than helpful to us. He taught every part of the theory required for the exam and even more that wasn't on the test scope, also the excersises done in the pool and on the dives were explained with great detail and tailored to our own pace, the dynamic of them was entertaining and all the practice gave us confidence to perform great when reviewed! I can't be more happy with my course!!
All staff were polite and friendly, but the dive was extremely crowded. Also, the location was not as nice as previous spots I have visited, and also much more expensive.
I really liked diving there! The places and aquatic life was incapable. I wish I could visit this diving place more often
we stayed at the sunset at the palms in negril and dove over the christmas holidays with scubacaribe. the staff and dive instructors were all wonderful and we truly enjoyed our experience. would definitely recommend!
I would highly recommend Scubacaribe for anyone! I was a little nervous at first to go 40 ft under the ocean for about 45 minutes, but the instructors are amazing and they take great care of you. It's not hard at all, all you gotta do is breathe and enjoy the beauty of the underway world! Incredible!
I didn't mind how the guy showed us to do things. But I made it clear that I didn't wanna drive the same spot twice and he did. And on are last dive day it was too windy out the waves were really big and the current was to strong. I said we should plan for the next day and he made us go that day. This is after I told him and made it clear that I have to bad knees and can't kick hard at all. So when we do make it down diving both my legs hurt my gf didn't wanna go down after jumping into the water as the waves were to big her equment wasn't working right and leaking. He pushes us to dive after I say I didn't wanna and she showed that she didn't wanna dive. The whole time we couldn't see or swim that good as waves and current was so strong. Then when we go down but end up stoping early cuz of the conditions. We shouldn't have gone n wasted a dive at all-even the other group came back up right after getting into the water because they couldn't see
Scuba caribe offered us many typea of excursions and levels training for diving. I took it twice for dving n 1 party cruise excursion. Staff was very nice in each situation , the equipment pretty new and clean, and the scuba traineer Anita from Italy was super clear, nice and confident. 10 points!!!!
Master diver was very knowledgable and helpful. I enjoyed the fish identification part of the adventure diving the most. The wreck dive and deep dive were also very interesting. We noted the effects the recent hurricane on the coral reef. For the most part, clear and warm water. A little murky the first day.
I had an awesome time. It was easy to learn. The instructors Dane and Alex also explain things well. Andy is cool too. I will definitely dive with these guys again
Outstanding service and very knowledgable staff. Great crew and great dives! We were very pleased with the staff and instructors.
This was actually at the RIU Santa Fe in Cabo San Lucas, but that wasn't in the list. I hadn't been diving since I got my PADI certification 2 years ago, so I glad when the staff made the trip very comfortable and easy. Everything went very smoothly, the guides were great at helping when needed, but didn't try to micromanage or get in the way of our great dive trip!
Have been wanting to dive for a very long time now It was an amazing and unforgettable experience all thanks to our wonderful and inspiring instructor, Dane! I immediately signed up for my next set of scuba classes to bring me to the next level. Thank you for showing me a whole new world!
I have nothing but good things to say about Alex, the young lady who was our instructor -- friendly, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. The other staff were also very friendly and qualified. My only complaint was the dive location left some to be desired in terms of the variety of marine life. For example, we also went on a snorkel trip the next day, which was a much more interesting location than the scuba location. Given that we were limited to 25ft or so because of the 1-day format perhaps that's the best the area has to offer -- I couldn't say.
My son and I signed up for a 2 tank dive. The instructors/dive masters were friendly, organized and informative. We had a small group of 4 and took 2 dives - one at 25-40ft and the second at 40-70 ft. Good variety of fish and saw one 6ft shark. Saw the shipwreck that was recently exposed after the hurricane. Thanks for a great morning.
Always wanted to try scuba diving and finally had a chance. Had choice of either deep sea fishing or scuba and choose scuba and was very glad I did. It was a awesome experience. The trainer - Lloyd - was first rate, very thorough in going over safety and procedures and was an excellent guide once in the ocean. Highly recommend.
Whilst on holidays in Montego Bay my husband and I gained our Scuba Diver certification. We consider it our ultimate holiday souvenir. I believe when learning to dive you want an instructor who is calm and makes you feel safe and secure. Francesca is all of that as well as absolutely lovely. We did two ocean dives, saw stingrays, trumpet fish and even a tiny lion fish. Now we are home all we want to do is go diving again, we have a whole new hobby and it was Scubacaribe who introduced us to it.
If you're going to deal with this company at the Montego Bay Riu be careful. They are so disorganized. After registering for a Discovery Dive they told us to be there at 10:00 to watch the video, 10:30 to do the skills in the pool, 11:30 we'd head out to sea. Ok, that's not what happened. We waited around until 10:00, watched the video. Then, "Oh, we're sorry. The instructor is out on a dive - we've moved your skills to 1:30 at the pool." Ok - we go eat lunch. 1:30 - instructor says where were you? I was here at 10:30 waiting? Um, what? Then says overbooked - can't go out. This story goes on and on but I can't even type it all. Just ridiculous. They have one instructor and one board with the schedule on it - how hard can it be?
Great experience with Scubacaribe in Los Cabos, while at the Riu Santa Fe. I attained my Advanced Open Water certification during my stay. The dive instructors were fantastic. Visibility was 50-100ft. Nice tropical fish. Sea Lions. Two white-tipped sharks can be seen as well as an old (1954) metal shipwreck. Also, they were cheaper and far more convenient to use than the Sunwing/Nexus/"X" Adventure/etc options.
Dane was GREAT. The dive was so fun, and I felt very comfortable with everything after learning all of the skills for the first time. I want to get Scuba certified now!
My husband convinced me to try scuba diving during our trip to Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Negril, Jamaica. Our pool training instructor Mr. Lloyd Haye was to-the-point and taught us all the basics. The lesson took about 1-1.5 hr, and was free as the resort was all-inclusive. The open water diving experience was about 30-45 min and cost $100, but if you get Riu class member card which is free at the front desk, they give you 15% discount. Then we went on a 5 min boat ride to the reef. I felt very safe during the dive as one of the instructors was by my side at all times. He also was courteous enough to take our pictures with our camera. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of this young fellow. But he was very friendly and helpful. Overall, great experience!
Great dive team, friendly staff, well equipped shop and nice boats. I did my advanced open water the week I was there plus a couple of extra dives and couldn't be happier about my experience with Scuba Caribe. William was my instructor for all of my dives and I was extremely pleased to dive with him.
This was my first introduction to scuba at the Riu Club in Negril and I had a great time. It was not as scary as I had thought it might be. Maybe this was due to the calm demeanor of our instructor. I look forward to trying scuba again in the future.
My scuba driving experience couldn't have been better. It was super fun and my scuba instructor james was the best he made the other drivers and i feel very comfortable with driving and showed us the ocean floor for over 40 minutes. I will definitely be coming back to do it again and would recommend try it out here!
First off, Lloyd was absolutely amazing during our Scuba Cert training in Negril out of the Riu Club hotel. He was very professional, and really took his time with both my wife and I, to allow us to feel comfortable during such an initially stressful and scary activity. Once we got accustomed to the open water, we were amazed at the sea life and coral structures we were surrounded by. What an experience! We actually continued to dive 4 more times out of Montego Bay.
i did a scuba diving and was incredible! the instructor was perfect , patient and i loved that experience.
The friendly staff of Scubacaribe at Hotel Riu Palace in Guanacaste Costa Rica will help you get the most out of your diving experience. Talk to Jesus for PADI scubadiving training. He will be happy to teach you, all while carefully providing detailed explanations and making you practice until you master all the required skills. Soon after you will be swimming with the Moray Eels, the Manta Rays, the turtles, maybe some sharks and a whole bunch of colorful fishes. Cheers !
