Altos de Chavon & Catalina Island

Location: Punta Cana
US$120

A magnificent day on the Caribbean Sea

Sail along the Caribbean coastline, soak in the gorgeous views of Altos de Chavon, snorkel at a coral reef and enjoy Catalina Island

The tour starts in Punta Cana where you will be transferred to a bus for a one hour ride to Casa de Campo. Here, you will visit Altos de Chavon, a replica of an Italian medieval town. Sculpted in stone, the site is an impressive example of what a Mediterranean-inspired village would have looked like on the island long ago. Altos de Chavón's main attraction is the 5,000, Roman-style amphitheater. Frank Sinatra was the first to perform here in 1982, and the venue has since hosted stars like Marc Anthony, Shakira, Sting and Gloria Estefan.

Later on you will have a ride on the Chavon River, enjoying exclusive cocktails and delicious snacks. Relax onboard and admire the wild nature of the surrounding area.

Get ready for the next attraction which is a sailing cruise aboard a catamaran, which will bring you to the jewel of the Caribbean Sea - Catalina Island. Equipped with masks, snorkels and fins you will explore the region with your guide. The Wall, a top snorkeling destination in Dominican Republic, is a must see spot with an abundance of tropical fish and unique corals.

You will stop at paradisiac Playa Grande on Catalina Island for a buffet lunch, a swim in the turquoise water or to just simply relax under the palm trees.

Around 3pm we will navigate back to Casa del Campo, so you will have another hour of relaxation while sailing in the waters of the lovely Caribbean Sea. Upon reaching the pier in Casa del Campo, the tour will head back via bus and arrive in Punta Cana around 5pm.

Enjoy a magnificent day full of activities which will begin with a visit to Altos de Chavon, a replica of an Italian medieval town, located atop the Chavón River in La Romana. It is the most popular attraction in this area and hosts a cultural center, an archeological museum, and an amphitheater. Continue with a ride aboard a double decker boat on the Chavon River. Later on, you will change boats to a catamaran, which will bring you to Catalina Island for great snorkeling and a delicious buffet lunch

Please bring a towel, swimwear, biodegradable sunscreen, sunglasses, cash for souvenirs and waterproof camera.
